After
School:
After long time of high school graduation, there
was not much contact with each other due to various reasons. In 1976, the Cultural
Revolution was ended, lots of classmates who were working in the farms
and other places had
a chance to follow the policy to go back to their hometown-Shanghai. In
1978, the state restored the university examinations, some
classmates admitted to the university was fortunate enough to
become the first group of classmates after the Cultural Revolution. Other
working classmates are also actively to enter a variety of institutions
for university or college to learn and obtain the corresponding diploma
and degree in order to get promotion. Until the end of the Cultural Revolution and after the beginning of reform opening up, the old
classmates began to communicate. Within a few years, they were able
to connect a few dozen of old classmates and several teachers. Due to
most of classmates were still working, they need to take care of the
family and educate to their kids, so they often use telephone contact
instead of meet.
Achievement:
After
nearly 40 years of struggle, many classmates work to obtain excellent results. Among them are Secretary, Director, Section Chief,
state-owned company's general manager, vice president, private company owner,
China-foreign joined company's technical
and executive director, successful real estate investors, financing and
investment expert, there also are
professors at American University and China University, there are doctors, engineers,
accountants and so on. They made important contributions to the
country and society.
60
Years Old Anniversary: In a very beautiful day of May 2007, 22 old classmates gathered to celebrate their 60th birthday and 40th anniversary of graduating from high school.
Everyone was very excited, there was no manager, no boss, no leader, all
are classmates. They watched each other, besides the gray
hair, the wrinkle, it is very like in the classroom 40 years ago. Unfortunately
there is no one from oversea to join the party, they only can view the
photos and DVD to share them happy time.
Enjoy
the Happy Life: Among the reform, the classmates' life have got great
improvement. Most of classmates had their own house; some of them had
cars that they dreamed about it for long time. With the advent of the
digital ago, they replaced old TV with a big LCD/LED television; on-line
surf and chat are their routine event. In relax time, they appeared to parks, shopping mall, and streets to catch a moment using their DSLR camera.
Everyone realized that they are lucky enough to catch the last happy train in
their life!
Current
Status: Now, there are 70% of original classmates have been contacted.
Unfortunately, it still has 9 classmates lose contact. Now about 10% of the classmates live and work abroad, others are living in Shanghai or other
cities in China. Apart from a few of them still work hard, the vast majority of
classmates are already retired,
enjoying a very happy retirement life. Some of them have become the
grandfather (grandmother). They are enjoying the blessing of reform and
opening up a prosperous life. They are very pride of to living in
Shanghai, the biggest city in far-east, the city is comparable to New
York in Financing; Paris in Fashion and London in Classic. They are also
deeply realized that the fundamental reasons they can get together
because they should thank to their Alma Mater who taught the basic
knowledge about cultural in verity area. In addition, Wang Xinguo has been bedridden at home for a long time due to illness; Qi Xiaoxin retired early to recuperate due to
a cerebral hemorrhage many years ago, and they basically do not participate in party activities. So far, six
classmates have left us prematurely. They are Fu Darong (died in 2002),
Wu Guoqiang (died in 2007), Xu Gonxian (died in 2014), Gu Guoxing (died in 2015),
Shi Qiqi (died in 2023) and Tian Nianci (died in 2023). May they rest in peace - RIP (Rest In Place).
Retirees
Endlessly: More and more classmates and others joined the group. Not only original
class, they were from other classes, even middle school classmates as well. They often meet together and chat.
Maintenance of the body health, concern about future for their next
generation, and travel around the country and oversea are unavoidable topic.
They compare who visited more places; how to buy a good camera lens with
low cost; how to keep diet longer, etc. One said, "I'd like to
visit all 5 continental before 70 years old"; the others said,
"I wish to drive my car to visit most of scenes in China",
"I bought lots books to read because I didn't have time to read
during working time", "I will order all my photos and plan to
publish a book for classic buildings in Shanghai", "I'd like
to set up my own website to share my DVD, photos and blogs", one
classmate even said, "I am busy than I was working!". All
of them are interested in to see when China can catch up United States
and Japan in all area, not only in GDP. In terms of politics and corruptions, they
believed that Mr. Hu and Mr. Wen will take care of it well.
Centennial

centennial celebration. More than 2000 people participated this event,
